In my mind, I always wanted to write a Christmas novel. Dicken’s Christmas Carol has to be one of the greatest ideas ever committed to paper, and although mine is nowhere near that, I thought I’d give it a bash. Why not?
For the rest of today, and tomorrow, I’ve even knocked my ebooks down by 40/50%, so grab them at a discount before I push them back up to full price on the third. (When I say, ‘full’; they’re still pretty cheap.)
There are many elements associated with Christmas in my novella. Finding the correct categories to market it, however, has proved a challenge. It’s quite unique, and although it’s definitely a Christmassy Mystery… it’s not even like the other seasonal books out there. Even as I write this, I honestly have no clue how to describe it.
So, I’m going to reel off a list of what it is, and isn’t, based upon the other Christmas novels I’m currently seeing out there.
Is there quite powerful seasonal imagery, and a dramatic landscape? Yes.
Is there a murder on a Christmas-style, Orient express, racing through the mountains? No.
Is it a murder mystery? No.
So, is it more a thriller/adventure? Yes, it’s suspenseful, and gritty, while being both magical and bohemian.
Will it even remind me of Christmas? One hundred percent.
Are there ghosts? There’s a tonne of supernatural stuff.
Is it cozy? Yes… I’d say definitely.
Are there animals? Yes, now you ask, there are.
Is it thought-provoking? I hope so. Wistful, and melancholic, too.
Are there historical elements? Absolutely.
Do the bells chime happily on Christmas morning at the end? Wait and see.
Hope you enjoy it,
